Understanding strength levels
Strength standards give you a reference point — not a competition. The goal is to understand where you are and what the next milestone looks like. Most lifters plateau at intermediate or advanced without dedicated programming.
The standards here use bodyweight ratio (lift ÷ bodyweight), which is the most common normalisation method. It accounts for the fact that heavier lifters can typically move more absolute weight. However, bodyweight ratios slightly disadvantage heavier athletes — for competitive purposes, Wilks or DOTS scores are more accurate.
